Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Guests took on the role of Mr. Toad in this ride as they drove around in cars named after characters from The Wind in the Willows. The ride had two separate tracks, unlike the Disneyland version, which has only one. The two tracks at Walt Disney World were slightly different in the beginning but both would burst through a fireplace, visit a pub, drive past gypsies, and then crash into a train. Not many attractions kill you with a train and then send you to a devil-filled Hell! The song heard throughout the ride was Nowhere in Particular. The effects (except for the train) were rather primitive and the painted-flat characters that appeared in the ride weren't even three-dimensional. At one time, this ride required a C ticket. It was replaced by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in 1999. Mr. Toad still currently rides on at Disneyland, although the ride is slightly different than the Florida version.

Hidden Mr. Toad Tributes

You can still find Mr. Toad in Fantasyland. He's hidden inside the Winnie the Pooh ride in a picture, giving the deed of the ride to Owl.

There is also a picture of Mole with Pooh hidden in the ride.

There is also an epitaph to Mr. Toad at the Haunted Mansion, as well as a statue in the Pet Cemetery.
