Dreamflight replaced If You Had Wings/If You Could Fly on June 26, 1989. It used the same Omnimover vehicles as the previous ride but the story focused on the history of aviation. It started out with a pop-up book depicting flight. Highlights included people passing through what looked like a giant plane engine.

(At this point, the Omnimovers flew through what looked like a giant jet engine and then through a futuristic city.)

When Delta ceased sponsoring Dreamflight on January 1, 1996, the ride was named Take Flight. To fit in with the New Tomorrowland theme, it was sponsored by the "Tomorrowland Metro-Retro Society." The ride closed on January 5, 1998 and was replaced by Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.
